Shou-Wei Ding, University of California Riverside, USA
Shou-Wei Ding is a professor of microbiology at University of California - Riverside. He received Ph.D. from Australian National University and postdoctoral training in University of Adelaide. He held a faculty position in an institute affiliated with National University of Singapore before joining UC-Riverside in 2000. Studies in his lab have contributed to the discovery of the plant and animal viral suppressors of RNAi and to the characterization of RNAi as a new antiviral immunity mechanism in Arabidopsis, Drosophila, C. elegans and mice. He is an elected fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
